PTO MEETING - Tuesday, September 8 - There will be a PTO meeting next Tues, Sept. 8, at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria.  We encourage you to join us if you would like to get involved, learn more about upcoming events, and support our school community.  Your participation makes a difference.  We hope to see you there!

PATRIOT DAY - Friday, September 11 - We encourage all students to show their patriotism next Friday by wearing red, white, and blue.  Let’s come together as a school community to honor our country and proudly display our American spirit!

BOOK FAIR & GRANDPARENTS DAY - The LCA book fair will take place Tues, Sept 15 through Thurs, Sept 17.  Secondary students may shop during S & E class on Tuesday.  The book fair will also be open to families & friends from 3:00 – 3:30 pm on Weds, and during our Grandparents Day activities.  Click here for more detailed information:  Book Fair & Grandparents Day Info

SERVICE HOURS OPPORTUNITY - SLEEP IN HEAVENLY PEACE BED BUILD
We have a great opportunity for service-hours coming up on Saturday, Sept. 12, right here in our community!  Sleep in Heavenly Peace will be hosting a bed-building event in the parking lot at The Way Church in Wentzville.  This is a fun, family-friendly opportunity to serve together while helping provide beds for children in need.  No experience is necessary, and students, parents, and families are all welcome to participate. The Wentzville chapter is led by Ken Kaibel, who can be reached at 636-295-6188 for more information or to coordinate participation.  The event is a wonderful way to earn service hours while making a tangible difference in the lives of local children.  Please contact the school office for a “Community Service Hours” form if you decide to participate.

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Noon Dismissal - Weds, Sept 2, is a noon dismissal for all students.  Please call the office to let us know if your child will be in after care.  There will be no hot lunch served that day, so please remember to pack a lunch for your child.

PTO Pizza Lunch – Friday, Sept. 4 will be our first PTO pizza day!  PTO Pizza must be pre-ordered, and the LCA hot lunch program is NOT available on PTO Pizza days.  The last day to order is Tues, 9/1.

REMINDER - Drop-off & Pick-Up Procedures - To ensure a safe and efficient traffic flow, the front driveway operates as one-way only during drop-off and pick-up.  Enter via the church’s lower parking lot and drive between the church and LCA. 

  • At drop-off - Staff will help children exit vehicles.  Please pull forward to the orange cones so that several vehicles can drop off at the same time.  Do not pass stopped vehicles.  If you must exit your car or enter the building, please park in the church’s upper parking lot.  

  • For pick-up, elementary parents form two lines in the lower lot (left lane to turn left, or right lane to turn right out of the lot).  As you proceed up the hill, please stay in your vehicle, stay alert, and move forward with the cars in front of you.  A teacher or staff member will safely bring your child to your vehicle.  Remain in your vehicle as staff brings students to you - exit only after the child arrives if needed.

  • Middle/high school-only pickups use the staff parking lot on the west side of the building.

STUDENT DRIVERS – If your student will be driving to school, please ask them to stop by the office next week to provide information about the vehicle they will be driving. If you prefer, you can also click HERE to provide the information online.  This information is needed in case of an emergency or if we need to have a vehicle moved, notify a student that their lights have been left on, or address another vehicle-related situation. INFORMATION TO KNOW:

MEET & GREET - We will host our Annual Meet & Greet Open House on Tues, Aug 11, from 5:00–7:00 PM. Families are invited to find their classrooms, meet their teachers, drop off school supplies, visit the tables in the gym, find and decorate lockers, and get ready for the new school year.

The Biblical Missions class will also be holding their first fundraiser of the year to help support their mission trip this spring. They will be selling BBQ chicken and pork dinner plates for $8, which will include chips, a dessert, and a drink. Come hungry and help support our students as they prepare to serve others!

The school nurse will also be at the Meet & Greet on Tuesday. If your child has medication that needs to be kept at school, please bring it that evening and drop it off with the nurse.

  • Coaches are currently holding open gym sessions for girls volleyball and boys & girls basketball.  These sessions are open to any student interested in playing middle or high school sports next year.

  • Weekly soccer workouts will start on Thurs, Jun 18, and will be held at the old Wright City High School.  Workouts will start at 6:00 PM and run about 2 hours, depending on weather.  These workouts are for boys and girls in grades 6-12.

  • A parent volunteer is also needed to help create an inventory of books in the Resource/Curriculum Room.  This project can be completed at your convenience during the summer — during the day, after dropping students off at sports camp, or whenever your schedule allows.  You would simply count books and enter the information into a Google Sheets document.  If you are interested in helping with this project, please contact the school office.

  • Monday 4:30 - 6:00 PM - Girls Volleyball - grades 6-12

SCCC Regional Workforce Innovation Center Meeting - We will be holding an informational parent meeting on April 27th at 6:00 PM.  This meeting will provide an opportunity to learn more about the St. Charles Community College RWIC program and how it can benefit your high school student’s academic and career goals.  A representative from St. Charles Community College will be present to explain program details, expectations, etc.  This is a great opportunity to gather important information and connect directly with a college representative as your student plans for their future.

Standardized Testing – When we return to school on Tues, Apr 7, all grades will be doing standardized testing (Iowa Testing, PreACT, ACT).  It is important that students get a good night’s sleep the night before and eat a healthy breakfast on Tuesday.  We also ask that you try to avoid absences, late arrivals, and early dismissals on Tuesday.  Please make sure your student has a couple of #2 pencils that day.

Mrs. Jaeger’s Retirement - Please join us in congratulating Mrs. Jami Jaeger on her retirement from LCA at the end of this school year. Mrs. Jaeger has been with us since 2018, and her impact on our students and families is immeasurable. We thank her for her years of dedicated service and wish her the very best.
