INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Noon Dismissal - Wednesday, Sept 3rd is a noon dismissal for all students.  There will be no hot lunch served that day.  Please call the office to let us know if your child will be in after care.

PTO Pizza Lunch Fundraiser – Friday, Sept 5th is PTO pizza day.  Please remember that PTO Pizza must be pre-ordered, and the LCA hot lunch program is NOT available on PTO Pizza days.

Friday Dress Down - As we get back into the swing of the school year, we are offering the opportunity to pay your student’s Friday $1 dress down in full for the entire year.

Important Health Information - With returning to school and heading towards the fall cold and flu season, this is a friendly reminder of our school's illness policy to help prevent the spread of germs. The goal is to keep all students and staff as healthy as possible throughout the year.

Please keep your child home if they exhibit any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever of 100.4°F or higher

  • Vomiting or diarrhea

  • Persistent cough or significant nasal congestion

  • Sore throat, headache, or body aches

  • Any undiagnosed or widespread rash

Return to school policy:

  • Your child must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without fever-reducing medication.

  • They must be free of vomiting and diarrhea for at least 24 hours. 

Yearbooks - We still have a few 2024-25 yearbooks available for purchase.  The cost is $55 each.  If you would like one of these yearbooks, please contact the office.  

LCA Annual Golf Tournament - Golf tournament preparations are in full swing and we need your help.

Yearbooks - The 2024-25 yearbooks have been distributed, and we have a limited supply of extras available for purchase.  The cost is $55 each.  If you would like one of these yearbooks, please contact the office.  

21 Days of Prayer - It’s not too late to join us for 21 Days of Prayer, happening now through August 23, and we’d LOVE to see you there! This is a powerful time to come together and seek God as we begin the school year.  We are meeting in the cafeteria on Monday - Friday from 6 - 7:00 AM, and on Saturdays from 9 - 10:00 AM.  If you can’t attend in person, you can livestream from home, watch on demand, and explore great prayer resources at:  21 Days of Prayer.

Crochet Club - We’re excited to announce the launch of a Crochet Club at LCA.  It will be open to students in 3rd - 12th grade and staff.  The crochet club will meet on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:00 - 4:30 PM in Mrs. Smith’s room (A6 - 4th grade).  If your student is interested in joining, please contact Jane in the office for more information. 

Texas Roadhouse PTO Fundraiser - The PTO is hosting a Dine to Donate fundraiser at Texas Roadhouse in Wentzville on Tuesday, 8/19, from 3:00 - 10:00 PM.  Just present this linked flier and 10% of your dine in or carry out food purchase will be donated to LCA.  We will also have a 50/50 raffle at the door that evening.  Please come out and help support our PTO!

Meet & Greet - We will host our Annual Meet & Greet Open House event on Tues, Aug. 12.  Doors will open at 5:00 PM and we will end the evening at 7:00 PM.  During this time families can find their classrooms, meet the teacher and drop off supplies, visit the tables in the gym, find and decorate lockers, etc.  Please be sure to stop by and check out the new library!  Seniors will have their first fundraiser of the year for their mission trip in the Spring.  They will be offering BBQ dinner plates for sale in the cafeteria.

21 Days of Prayer continues - Join us for 21 Days of Prayer from August 4-23.  We are meeting in the cafeteria on Monday - Friday from 6 - 7:00 AM, and on Saturdays from 9 - 10:00 AM.  If you can’t attend in person, you can livestream from home, watch on demand, and explore great prayer resources at:  21 Days of Prayer.

Crochet Club - We’re excited to announce the launch of a Crochet Club at LCA.  It will be open to students in 3rd - 12th grade and staff.  This will be a fun and welcoming space for anyone interested in the art of crocheting!  Whether you're a seasoned pro or have never picked up a hook, you're welcome to join.  Beginners can learn from experienced members, and experienced crocheters can share their skills, techniques, patterns, and creativity.  The crochet club will meet on the last Wednesday of each month from 3:00 - 4:30 PM in Mrs. Smith’s room (A6 - 4th grade).  If your student is interested in joining, please contact Jane in the office for more information. 

Service Hour Opportunities - We still have a few jobs we are trying to finish before students are in the building.  If you are able and willing to assist, please contact our new Facilities Director, Tyler King, at facilities@lcaeagles.com

We also need help sorting and shelving library materials in the new library.  If you would like to volunteer to help with this, please contact Karen Poore at kpoore@lcaeagles.com

Last but not least, we have fitness equipment to assemble and organize for the new fitness room.  This is an amazing new addition to LCA, and a great opportunity for our student-athletes to serve by working to help prepare the fitness center.

Middle/High School Finals Schedule -  Click here for a copy of the Finals Schedule for next week.  As has been communicated several times throughout the year, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday will be full days this week.  The originally scheduled half days were converted to full days to offset for time missed due to inclement Winter weather.  

Field Day - On Thurs. May 29, the elementary teachers have an awesome field day planned! Mr. Smith has approved a free dress down day, and Lilly’s Snow Cones will have free treats for PreK-6th grade students.  Snow cones will also be available to students in 7th-12th grades for $2 each.  

Awards Day Details – The Annual School Awards program will begin at 8:30 AM.  Parents, friends and family are all invited to attend the All School Awards assembly.  Students should be in unified dress on Friday.  School will be dismissed immediately following the awards assembly.  

Summer Sports - Beginning Monday, June 2, our coaches will be holding open gym sessions for volleyball and basketball players in 9th - 12th grades.  The summer gym schedule is posted on the Athletic webpage under the Helpful Links section! You can also click here:  Summer Gym Schedule.

Community Service Hours Opportunity - We have an opportunity for students and families to get some community service hours.  There is an elderly couple who lives North of Jonesburg that is looking for help with some yard work and cleaning out an old shed.  This will require several students and a couple of parent volunteers to supervise.  If you are interested in getting involved, please contact Gina Nelsen at 636-745-0388.

FREE Muny Tickets – Great news! The PTO has once again partnered with The Muny to offer our families access to live Saturday performances through their Community Access Program.  We have 20 tickets available for each of five shows - Bring It On: The Musical, Come From Away, Disney's Frozen, Evita, and Jersey Boys. Service Hours Opportunity - We have an opportunity for students and families to get some community service hours on Sat, 4/26.  We will be working at Highway 61 Trailer, 1857 W. Outer Hwy 61, Moscow Mills, MO  63362, partnering with International Disaster Emergency Services (IDES) to help with packaging  nutritious meals for the hungry.  IDES will distribute the meals to help feed the hungry and spread the gospel.  Feel free to join us even if you don’t need service hours, but just want to help.  We will be taking the LCA vans.  We will meet at LCA at 1:15 and leave at 1:30 PM.  Here is a link to sign up:  Community Service Hours

Dinner Auction Results - We are thrilled to announce that this year’s Dinner Auction was our most successful yet!  With a remarkable increase of $4,000 compared to last year, we raised over $69,000 in total.  This achievement would not have been possible without the incredible generosity of our donors, the enthusiastic support of our attendees, and the dedicated efforts of our auction committee.  Thank you to everyone who contributed to this event and helped support our mission of partnering with families to produce Godly young people who consistently make the right choices and impact their world for Jesus. We are truly blessed!

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Calendar Changes - Due to the recent days off for sickness and inclement weather, we have had to make a few changes to the school calendar.  A copy of the updated calendar is attached.  

  • Thurs, Mar 13 will be a full day of school 

  • Fri, Mar 14 will be a noon dismissal 

  • Weds, Apr 30 will be a full day of school

  • Tues-Thurs, May 27-29 will be full days of school  

Spring Pictures - Spring pictures are your chance to show your personality.  LCA Unified Dress is not required.  Please note that this picture day includes individual spring pictures, sports teams and individuals, and kindergarten graduation pictures.

Annual Parent Meeting – Please plan to attend this important meeting on Thursday, Feb 27th at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria to hear the latest happenings at LCA, as well as the vision for LCA’s future.  A number of important items pertaining to the 2025-2026 school year will be discussed at this open board meeting.

Noon Dismissal - Wednesday, Mar 5th is a noon dismissal for all students.  There will be no hot lunch served that day.  Please call the office to let us know if your child will be in after care. 

Service Opportunity - We are in dire need of assistance in replacing/repairing the guttering on the west side of the main building that was damaged during the January snow storms.  If you have the skills, expertise, or contacts to make this happen, please contact Dr. Jim Kerr (jkerr@lcaeagles.com) or Mr. Smith immediately to discuss how you can help.

Open Positions - LCA is seeking a School Counselor for the 2025-26 school year.  If you have a passion for guiding students academically, emotionally, and spiritually in a Christ-centered environment, we would love to hear from you.  Contact Mr. Smith at dsmith@lcaeagles.com if you have any questions.  To apply, please complete the Teacher Application found on our website.

Next Week in Sports

  • Track and field practices will begin on Mon, Feb 24.  Students should meet in the gym at 3:30 pm.  We will end each day at the old Wright City High School building at 520 Westwoods Road at 5:30 pm.   Click HERE for more detailed information.

  • We are in need of one more assistant track coach for the upcoming season.  No track or coaching experience is required to fulfill this service.  Even if you can help a couple of days per week that would be amazing!  Mr. Smith will coordinate and plan all workouts if desired.

Heartgrams - Our Seniors will be selling heartgrams in the morning before school for a couple more days.  Orders will be delivered to the child’s classroom on Wednesday, 2/12.  Click here for the order form:  Heartgrams

Alumni Basketball Games - Please join us on Saturday, February 22nd, for our 20th Anniversary Alumni Games!  Games will start at 5:30 PM.  After the games, we hope you can stay for a Pizza Party in the new cafeteria.  Alumni who RSVP to Gina Nelsen by Friday the 14th will receive a special 20th Anniversary long-sleeve shirt.  Come relive the glory days, reconnect with friends, and celebrate 20 years of God’s faithfulness at LCA! 

Spring Track & Field - We are in need of one additional assistant track coach for the upcoming track season.  You do not need to have track coaching experience to fulfill this service, and even if you can help a couple of days per week that would be amazing.  This position would mostly oversee the distance runners, encouraging them and tracking their progress.  Mr. Smith will coordinate and plan all workouts if desired.  Be on the lookout for a separate email from the Athletic Dept. with specific information for athletes, such as practice times, fees, etc.

Dinner Auction -  We are less than 60 days away from our Raising Warriors Dinner Auction and the shelves are bare.  The auction is one of our main fundraisers and we need your help to make it a success.  The auction committee is challenging all students, parents, alumni and friends of LCA to help us get sponsorships and donations for the dinner auction on April 4th.  They will be awarding prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places.
