INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Operation Christmas Child – Thank you for supporting this event!  We collected items for 21 boxes!

Food Drive – THANK YOU for sending in cans for our food drive!  We collected about 2579 cans!  Congrats to 2nd Grade for winning the contest and getting to play dodgeball with the firefighters!

Paint Night Fundraiser – We will be hosting a Paint Night Fundraiser on December 15th.  All proceeds will go towards the 9th – 12th Grade Family Trip to New York City. 

Popcorn – The 9th – 12th Grade students going to New York City are selling popcorn as a fundraiser.  Orders need to be placed by Thursday for Friday delivery.  Contact Mr. Holiway to place your order (jholiway@lcaeagles.com).

Christmas Program – Our annual Christmas Program will be held Friday, December 7th at 6:30 PM.  PK-6th should wear nice church dress in Christmas colors (green, red, black, khaki, silver, gold, white).  No jeans, please!!  The actors in the play will wear something specific to their characters (Mrs. Aaron will discuss that with them).

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Homecoming Week – Next week is our Homecoming Week.  It will be filled with themed dress-down days, pep rally, basketball games, and the coronation of our king and queen.  Monday is Holiday Day, Tuesday is Tourist Day, Wednesday is Meme Day, Thursday is Extreme School Spirit Day, and Friday is Mathletes vs. Athletes. 

Students who choose not to dress in Spirit Days are required to wear unified dress. Please note that AHED (After Hours/Early Release Dress Code) is still in effect for themed days; please dress accordingly.

Homecoming Court – Congratulations to the following students for making Homecoming Court: Katelyn Chemin, Maddie Dames, Maddy Janes, Katie Pierson, Tori Young, Noah Chambers, Josh Dames, Michael Foran, David Vaclavik, and Andrew Voss. 

Operation Christmas Child – We are participating in Operation Christmas Child this year.  Our goal is for each class to fill one box.  Items needed for each box are as follows: a doll, ball with pump, stuffed animal, hygiene items (no liquids) and school supplies.   Food, lotions, and glass containers are not recommended. In addition, each class needs $9.00 to send the boxes. Items are due by November 15th.

Food Drive – We are partnering with the Wright City Fire Department to collect food for the Wright City Pantry.   The class that brings in the most canned goods will receive a pizza party and a dodgeball game with the Fire Department.  The contest ends November 16th.

School Closing - If we close or delay the start of school due to inclement weather, a phone call via One Call will be sent.  We also list the school on the school closing site for Fox 2, KMOV, and KSDK.

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Early Dismissal – This Wednesday, the 7th, is our all school Noon Dismissal.  If your child needs aftercare, please contact the office.    

Dinner Drama – Our High School Drama class will be presenting the dinner theatre “The Lost Lamm” next Friday, November 9th.  Doors open at 6:30 PM and Act 1 begins at 7 PM.  Dinner includes salad, pasta, and dessert. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for children 4-10, and $1 for children 3 and under.  Call the office to reserve your ticket.

Risers – We are in need of risers for our Christmas Program on Friday, December 7th.  If you know of some we can borrow, please contact the office.

The Box Tops competition has begun!  THANK YOU for such a great start!  The students who brought the most in Box Tops for their class are Emerson Carlisle, Everett Ramey, Elsie Kimmel, Reed Bauer, Ryder Carlisle, Marley Williams, and Cash Carlisle.  To date, 2,218 Box Tops have come and the 11th and 12th graders are still in the lead!!

School begins at 7:50. If your child is not in the building by the time the bell rings 7:50, he/she is considered tardy.  Per our policy, ALL students who exceed 60 minutes of tardiness will be assessed additional family service hours for every 60 minutes of tardiness or fraction thereof.  Parents will be given notification of any additional service hours, due to tardy minutes, every quarter. 

Picture Day is THIS Wednesday.  Your child needs to wear unified dress code.  Boys’ Soccer and Girls’ Volleyball pictures will also be taken.

Now that Spring is finally here – please keep in mind the dress code.  Shorts need to be to the knee, even on Fridays.  Sleeveless tops for 7th – 12th graders need to have a 3-inch strap; PreK-6th graders need to have a 2-inch strap.

Parent Service Hour Forms were due this week.  Thank you for helping at LCA!  If you did not complete your 20 hours, you will be billed $15 per hour unless you have made arrangements.

LUNCH WILL NOT BE SERVED ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY!  Students need to bring their lunches, including utensils.

Awards Program is Wednesday, the 23rd, starting at 9:00 AM.  Remember that it is a school day and students need to dress according to the unified dress code.

Students in 7th – 11th Grade who have not completed Service Hours will be required to stay after finals (May 21 and 22) to complete their hours.

Field Day – PreK-6th Grade has Field Day on Tuesday, the 22nd.  These students may dress in AHED dress.  Please pack sunscreen for your child.

This work day will be the final push to get our building ready for our Accreditation visit, Sunday, April 22nd – Wednesday, April 25th.

Terra Nova testing continues for elementary and begins on Monday for 7th – 10th graders.  The tests cannot be interrupted once they begin. So, please do all you can to ensure that your child is present and on time. Your child needs a non-mechanical #2 pencil for the test.  THANK YOU in advance for your assistance.

INFORMATION TO KNOW:

Terra Nova testing begins next Wednesday for elementary and the following Monday for 7th – 10th graders.  The tests cannot be interrupted once they begin so please do all you can to ensure that your child is present and on time. THANK YOU in advance for your assistance.

There are 2 XL Championship Basketball Shirts available.  Shirts are $15 and are unified dress approved.

Still need Service Hours?  Our final work day of the year is scheduled for Saturday, April 14th from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  We need you to help make us SHINE. This work day will be the final push to get our building ready for our Accreditation visit, Sunday, April 22nd – Wednesday, April 25th.

Re-enrollment—March 31st is the last day to take advantage of the $50.00 discount for re-enrollment!  Thanks to all those who have re-enrolled so far. To begin the process, log in to teacherease.com. Families planning on applying for Flexible Tuition for the 2018-19 school year will need to complete the re-enrollment packet, in addition to FACTS and the FT paperwork.

Survey – We are asking all parents to complete our parent survey.  If you did not complete one during Parent/Teacher Conferences, you can access it on our website (lcaeagles.com) by clicking on the link at the top right labeled “LCA Parent Survey”, then follow the directions for completing the survey.  Thank you for taking the time to complete; your opinions matter to us.

Picture Day – Wednesday, April 4th is our Spring Picture Day.  Baseball players need to come dressed in their uniforms.  Soccer players, please bring your uniforms.  Students may wear AHED dress (Friday dress down apparel); please remember to follow the guidelines that are in the handbook.
